ASTI raya gathering 2008...

back in 1984, a bunch of students became the pioneer of SEMESTI. life was tough then for these 13-year old kids who were trying to adjust with the new life in a very new school smacked right in the middle of palm oil estate, in teluk intan. last sunday, 24 years later (dem...that long, eh?) some of them met again, now with families and it was really an afternoon to remember. thanks very much, guys. hope we can have this session again, next year.

it's been a while since i last shot a model. there were a few invitations but they're pretty routine that i didn't feel like joining the sessions. so, when a friend from showed me an abandoned bungalow in shah alam, i got excited and quickly gathered a few friends to have this photo session held at the location. more pictures can be viewed here.

rumah nur salam....
|
|
rumah nur salam is a safe haven for children of chow kit. run by volunteers of yayasan salam, it is a place where neglected kids are provided with shelter, protection, food and guidance, away from the negative influences and crime in chow kit which is one of the black areas in kl. most of the parents of these kids are drug addicts or pushers, sex workers and others who are not capable to look after the children while they're at "work". at this centre, the children can find hope that they can have better lives than their parents. according to the director, raja azizan, there are about 300 registered children with the house but it can only accomodate about 50 of them at one time. then, i couldn't help to think the safety and whereabouts of the other 250 children.

blessed children of Allah..

i visited an orphanage in puchong over the weekend. the kids were lovely and they really looked forward for visitors. the young ones were full of expressions and playful, while the older ones were more serious and sometimes looked somber. they loved the camera and i took as many shots as possible to please them. these are some of the shots i took. more pictures can be viewed here.
