note : some asked whether i really shot miniature cars, bridges, busses etc. nope, these images were processed with photoshop, emulating the effects that can be created using a tilt shift lens

on the street of yangon....

it was wet when i was there. it rained everyday but life went on in yangon and the streets were busy as usual. i noticed that there were no public phones like the ones we used to see in malaysia, but there were private services using phones that we often saw in homes and offices. and they love beetlenuts (sireh) and mobile vendors could be seen everywhere.

land of sarongs...

sarong is their traditional dress, for both men and women....and so does the "selipar jepun". they go to office, school, at the market, dating and i even saw they wore sarong while climbing ladder more than 20 feet high.

jauh jalan nie...
past ni kita pun leh pakai sarung skali

myanmar revisited...

this is shwedagon pagoda in yangon, which is the biggest in myanmar. it is a solid structure with thousands of gem stones worth millions of dollars placed on top of it. more can be read here.

young monks at shwedagon.

when i first arrived yangon, the hotel's driver told me that i must try the briani there. i wondered why coz surely they can't beat batu pahat's briani gam. boy, i was wrong. the briani there is much much better than anything i tasted in malaysia.

senang tak cari makanan halal kat sana? Fri 11-Jul-2008 02:59

on the road again...

this time, destination yangoon....

welcome to the land where the big brother watches you. unless you have gmail (maybe they haven't discovered that yet), you can forget sending e-mails from myanmar. i can't even access my company's remote e-mail. oh, no mobile phone roaming service too.

and the city is without motorcycles (the authority bans them except for officials),
